Three classes of tachykinin receptors have been characterized,the NK-1; NK-2; and NK-3; which prefer,respectively,substance P,neurokinin A (substance K,neurokinin alpha,neuromedin L),and neurokinin B (neurokinin beta,neuromedin K).
